My (uneducated) guess is that demand for people who know how to write will skyrocket. My students are still OK, but its getting worse and in five years we will have people who can't formulate a sentence. Yet, communication is top 10 skills companies want.

Trump did a horrible first term, but I'm honestly surprised how much damage he has managed to do in such a short time this time a round. Not looking positive for the next 4 yrs. :(

Although I feel for Americans academics, there are scientists in other countries who are much worse off and has been for a long time. But we never see initiatives to help them get established in the EU....

Thats odd. Mine can, and the manual also states that svg is supported: docs.chemaxon.com/display/docs...

I always export as SVG and never have font/line issues with Inkscape. PDF with embedded fonts also work, make sure you have all Windows fonts installed for non-embedded files.

MarvinSketch for molecules, Matplotlib/Python for plotting data. Inkscape/Gimp for graphics editing. LibreOffice for editing. Office compatible. Zorero in bookmarks-mode is cross platform. Same workflow as in windows.

Honestly, thinking about how life will look in 7647 sounds quite interesting. Pretty different from today would be my guess.
