Nuremberg could have been a great movie, but it was crap, and I'm unreasonably mad about it. It's like the US couldn't physically bring itself to contemplate its own humanity. Even this many years later, after everything they've done, they can't stand the idea of not being better than everyone else.

I just described the eggs I had on a sandwich for breakfast today as

"really bright happy eggs, like they really wanted to be there"

when partner asked me to describe what was good about them. (They were exxy local free range ones he bought me as a thank you.)

What a great sentence about eggs. 😆

The new age florist didn't have the right types of leaves for your smudge stick?

Problematic sage gap.
Somebody's taken out an entire chapter of your book?

Problematic page gap.
Wizard keeps throwing fireballs like confetti every combat while sorcerer keeps spending sorcery points trying to perfect subtle spells?

Problematic mage gap.

It's stinkin hot, so obviously this chonky lump of fluff has an afternoon nap on a pile of blankets in a west-facing window. 😰

I miss the days of social media statuses written entirely in song lyrics.

Let's get these teen hearts beating faster, faster... 😂

Will you please vote for me?

I'm a finalist to be a 2026 Door Builder, for Building Doors VO, to become 1 of 12 advocates for equality for women's voices in male-dominated voiceover industries. I'd love to be the token Aussie one!

Vote for me by liking this yt short:

If you take a lot of different sands from various geographical locations and mix them all together in one hourglass, are they still sands? Or have they now become sand?

Google just sent me an ad for the new Pixel. $2700!!! what the helliyo. I could buy a decent old car for that.
Anyway this is why I only ever buy refurbished phones and keep them till they die.

Speaking of good movies...
I tried to watch a very terrible tv series: Midnight Mass. Oh my LORD (pun intended), what the fuck. 🤣 So bad.
Dialogue is like reading a subpar novel out loud, effects are ~special~ alright, the entire world building is painfully shallow and false. Reviews are hilarious.

Today was a very bad day inside my head, but I:
-exercised
-recorded two chapters of audiobook
-cooked lunch, and
-made Instagram content.

Wow, I'm amazing. 😆

Oh! Also! I recently watched The Usual Suspects for the first time, it wasn't very interesting which is probably why I've never watched it before, but - was that a really obvious twist? Or are we just spoilt by too many good twists in the last few decades?

Yesterday I watched Paterson, a 2016 Jim Jarmusch movie and my LORD I loved it. It literally calmed my nervous system and I was sitting on the couch feeling blissful... I know this doesn't sound like a thing Sumara would ever say but I'm really saying it because wow. Really loved it.

Classical Gas was on a movie soundtrack so I dragged out this old broken second hand thing to re-enact my high school classical guitar failures.
Very happy that modern technology has brought us online guitar tuners. 😆 And proud of myself remembering the notes.
Sheet music is the next problem.

"The reality is that AI is going to-" let me stop you right there buddy and introduce you to a concept called Propaganda
and also another concept called Reality Is Made Up
and also my favourite concept: humans actually love humans.

Tidied away 2 1/2 floor piles of clothes / blankets in my room. Now there's just one floor pile plus 2 chairs plus the top of a dresser.
(My room is huge, even the floor piles barely make a dent in floor space.)
I used to be a tidy organised person, now I'm a proud of half-tidying things person. 😆

I just rescheduled a task for 3 months away and for some reason it put the task in 2026!

Ugh. 🫣

This was such a good mystery that I actually wondered what I had forgotten! Surely I had forgotten something! What did I miss? Didn't miss anything it was just written so well! Love these books.
The time difference to Australia is killing me! There's a mystery we don't know is a mystery and Sumara is about to find out PLUS another one and oh oh oh that book was so hard to write and she gets it! (More colonizer relatives nearby over there. They're everywhere.)

You can get The Esker Road here, or on the kindle thingamebob. 📚📚📚
The paperback is up. It is so weird how fast it goes from "Oh I have to finish editing this massive document on the couch" to "This is an object you can hold and read in the bathtub." Or anywhere, really. There's no rules about it.

It's 2025 and people are still in comment sections whining about women saying "like" too much. Faaarrk.
