A Restless Flycatcher has found enough food at Warrayatkin Swamp to stay a while. When the insects are swarming, he's hovering and chomping above the grasses; when they're absent he works the cobwebs on dead trees for trapped insects. Here, he sizes up a prospective perch. April 2.

A Peregrine Falcon was feeding a pair of newly fledged offspring at the top of a cliff. When feeding was done it would drop into the shadows then reappear soon after with more tucker. I raised my ISO so I could follow it down to its meat cache. November 19.

Up close, these are impressively large birds. This Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo dropped into the breeze from a high tree-top then curved upward passing perhaps 5 metres from the lens. Gulp! March 16 near Willaura.
