Lefse ordered from Norsland Lefse! A small business in MN that makes it. I've done this prior and it was worth it :) I'll have some in time for Thanksgiving. I've missed having it during the holidays and I just don't have the energy to make it myself!

Save this image (and/or its Alt text) to your mobile device. If you experience or see intimidation, harassment, or suppression of voters at a polling site, call the number for your state, or the national number. If you are turned away at the polls, ask to vote by provisional ballot per federal law.

We got a number of reports of voter intimidation amid early voting in Allegheny County, PA.

If you are experiencing voter intimidation wherever you are, the nonpartisan voter protection hotline is 866-OUR-VOTE.

And if you in PA, you can also call 833-PA-VOTES
my dad’s a poll worker and was telling me about the belligerent maga types showing up. this will definitely be a thing on tuesday.

Still being sleep disturbed by the work on my house, but it should be done this week. Other than getting the front door light put back up (maybe that too). It'll be nice.

Next I get to worry about possible new neighbors and house work across the street from me when that house sells.

Learned this morning that my partner, who votes in every single election, was removed from the voting rolls here in Ohio because of "inactivity." He got it fixed but what the fuck.

If you're in Ohio and planning to vote this November, please PLEASE keep checking your registration as it gets nearer.

Ugh. My health issues suck - one thing that it's hard to get people to understand is that it *doesn't matter* how much sleep I get, if I'm woken in the morning, I can get violently ill.

The last two days I've been woken by folks doing siding on the house (necessary and planned). Blech.

Finally got this blocked! Well, in the process of blocking, it's drying now. Linen/cotton blend, triangular shawl. Will be for sale (unless someone claims it first) in a couple of weeks after I get good pictures and do updates.

If I post about how horrified I am by the bombardment of Gaza, that doesn't mean that I support Hamas, the October 7 massacre, or hostage-taking.

If I post about how horrified I am by Hamas and its acts, that doesn't mean I support either the occupation or the assault on Gaza.

These are amazing trips to Peru. If my health would let me I'd be all over it!

🧵. Kelly makes suggestions if you are sitting in a morass of "what can I do?"

If you can just show up & speak for literacy, and how graphic novels and TV tie-ins and books about people like ME (whoever Me is) increase reading, ability, literacy.

ELEVEN people are behind over half the book banning.
1. Go to your local library and fill out request forms.

2. Show up at your local school board meetings. Sign up to speak. Remind them that access to books that are relevant and relatable INCREASES LITERACY, which is literally the job of schools

3. Show up at library board meetings. Same thing.

If you're in Massachusetts, please call @elizabethwarren.bsky.social's office and beg her to change her mind about supporting #KOSA. This bill would silence LGBTQIA+ voices on the internet. They're claiming it's been fixed — it hasn't been. #politics

These are the spindles that I've been using the most of lately. They are fantastic functional tools, and while I also love my "fancy" spindles, I worry a bit more about damaging them if I drop them and such.

Also, if you want to learn to spin, Abby has fantastic courses!
OK so then I decided if I’m ranting about spindles I may as well put the ones I have in stock on sale.

Some of these are the really special ones that there’s only one guy who makes and he’s the apprentice of the guy who died and we’re trying to keep him making them

Got some skeins to see what a local mill produces before I send a bunch of wool there. I like what I got! They also have lines that use only regional fiber.

No photo, I don't usually photo food or remember to, but I made Milanesa de Pollo for the first time today, despite being in an illness flare. Need to play around with the seasoning, but something I'll make again! Thanks #abbysyarns for the class!
