And why do none of them worry about how much this is costing the taxpayers, not only in $ to support the operation , but also in lost salaries the Guard members are giving up because they are away from the jobs that sustain them?

I think it’s not making the news much because it’s mostly women in the households who do the grocery shopping, and face it, it’s mostly dudes who control the narrative and think we’re just exaggerating. I ran this thought by my partner (who does shop on occasion), and he agreed.

Truth. I did a stint in a public safety field(cop adjacent) and the hubris and general assholery was astounding. Being female didn’t help, I’m sure, esp when I outperformed dudes at the academy. My ethical makeup did not jibe with them. Relieved I got out when I did.

Given how much complete and utter bullshit is being thrown at all the walls, I’m done. I live in a beautiful place, have an exceptional community (ok, a bubble) and realize my luck (for now). But! Coping by remembering my extraordinary experience @ Ozz Fest in something like 2004. 🤟🏼

No kidding. We just received the highest bill ever in our lives. It was shocking. We can pay it (and cut back on other things…eat a lot of lentils and rice!) but I know that there are many who can’t.

A year ago, I was so proud to purchase a made in the USA, hand stitched flag to fly at my new residence . It’s beautiful, but now collecting dust in the garage (but properly stored-i just live in the dusty desert). I just can’t.

I think that’s a separate deal - USDA intends to axe the roadless rule. That rule affects places like Frank Church and the Tongass

It’s been revised- no longer any FS land but still includes BLM land. Montana was never included, so as much as I don’t like this guy, he is standing up for other western states IF he actually votes no for this reason.
