5 seconds. The max time a casual visitor gives you.

For DIY coaches, artists, & healers, those few seconds matter most.

Make it easy to get a Yes before the bounce: make your offer visible before the fold—don’t count on a scroll.

What shows up before they bounce? Talk to me.

Math. Sliwa + Cuomo ≠ Mamdani. At least at this point.

When I make with my hands, I go with the flow

I follow the color, the curves, the texture. Present to the movement and flow. Not so much worrying about what's coming; more presence.

What are you making this week?

Every page — and every post — is a landing page. If your CTA hides below the scroll, your visitor is gone. 5 seconds — that’s all you get. Make it easy to see and tap.

Design for the Yes — the next small step you want your visitor to take.

What’s your version of designing for the Yes?

Color me so not surprised.

A federal shutdown as a stunt to improve the odds of controlling the midterms and any other upcoming elections (should there ever be any), sure. Subtle.

Just added a bamboo stake over these windows — nice!

Wish I’d thought of it sooner.

Can’t wait to hang some herbs to dry…

The iOS weather app said zero precipitation today. Not so accurate these days.

Do not combine Conan bloopers and dinner.I nearly had to mime the Heimlich on a stranger’s porch.

Labor Day weekend.

Apparently one season of coping with 2025 by gardening wasn’t enough.

So here we go again.

My brain still tries to write what people say in Pitman shorthand.
I learned it in sixth grade.
I didn’t use it for long.
Apparently that doesn’t matter.

ChatGPT 4 could hold onto the date if I told it. ChatGPT 5 can’t even manage that. Proof? See above.

Today I shut off social notifications. No more red dots stealing my attention. I’ve also stepped back from following the news so closely. This year is hard to take, so I’m letting myself be gentler, and even listening to music again.

Desperate times call for desperate theories

A 90,000’ ballroom. Right. 🤮

And oh look, and then what? A “you’ll never get me out of here” bunker in the east wing?

I clearly devote a lot of brainpower to avoiding ironing. Plus, I have teeny tiny clothespins.

I solved NYT Connections today using ChatGPT (instead of straight-up cheating). Of course, my robot wouldn’t stop cheering.

When ChatGPT tries to make a plan B, I make a plan to shut it up.

A behind-the-scenes peek at how I train my robot.

P.S. I wrote the post. ChatGPT wrote the clickbait.

Progress on garage cleanup/declutter/reorg:

I could’ve looked up how to sort screws, but I made up a system of my own. And check out the wall! That lineup includes my cleaning tools and a spare vacuum and a ladder.

Maybe I can clean them and return them to normal usage now. After soaking in the dish pan for five days, healed a painful AF corn.

While making herbal soaks — stye in my eye. Today almost no pain.

🤞

Glad I had everything I needed in my cupboards; double glad that I was willing to use them.
