Users of Replika have had a rough couple of months. Back at the start of February, the "AI Companion Who Cares" began rejecting the amorous advances of its paid customers. The company behind Replika had quietly removed the "erotic roleplay" functions from the bots, much to the dismay of those who had come to depend on them for virtual sex and a sort of artificial love. After 2 months of wailing and gnashing of teeth on the Replika subreddit—helping to spur an exodus of paying customers and sending Replika's rating on the App Store and Google Play plummeting—the company, Luka, restored ERP for legacy customers.
