Just a little update. I tried to access the gmail account that was created for this experiment and received this message👎. Guess they don't like privacy either.

A quick review of the account

An optional phone number for account security. Again, it's not mandatory so we'll skip it. In a real use case, we would use the second phone line instead of our main line like we did with the robot test.

An optional recovery email. It's not mandatory so we'll skip this.

We'll type in the code we received on our secondary phone
December 28, 2024 at 2:53 PM
A "robot" test. We have a secondary phone line for this type of situation so not a huge deal, but, if you want to keep your actual phone number off the internet this is where things normally start costing more money and become increasingly annoying.

Let's create a strong password even though it's only a test account.
December 28, 2024 at 2:53 PM
We'll use the address that's given based on the name and what's available.

Birthday? Sure any date will do really

So much for user privacy. The great digital gods will be with you shortly.

How about this then?😄

Keeping the world safe through a world-wide selfie identification service 🙄

Nothing like handing over your personal identity to a free service.
December 20, 2024 at 6:50 PM
Enter the identification code they sent? No sweat.
December 20, 2024 at 6:50 PM
Asking for an email again?...okay...to confirm my Identity? I didn't know this free service was a global identification service, but lets re-enter the aliased email.
December 20, 2024 at 6:50 PM
Ok, lets see what they're asking for...Oh, a little game to see if i'm a bot? Seems benign enough.
December 20, 2024 at 6:50 PM
So for this second test I went a little harder and used a TOR browser. I'll go back and see if the results are the same using a VPN like I did with the first experiment, but lets dive right in. After filling in a name, email, and birthday everything looks normal. Then...
