Dear Mr Brown and Ms Costello, Today's announcement regarding restricting access to puberty blockers along ideological lines, rather than medical ones, once again proves you don't care about evidence, about human rights, or about the lives of young people in our country. I can't believe you are gleefully announcing legislation that you know will cause tremendous permanent emotional and physical damage to rangatahi. Unlike puberty blockers, the impacts of this cruel move are irreversable. There is a huge and irrefutable body of research that shows the more support a gender diverse young person has, the more chance they have of surviving, and thriving into adulthood. A more recent study of 1,697 trans and nonbinary young people in Australia found that: "Participants who felt supported to affirm their gender medically, legally, or socially, reported less suicidal ideation and self-harm in the past 12 months as well as lower psychological distress, lower anxiety, and greater happiness. Support for medical and legal affirmation was associated with less suicide attempt in the past 12 months. Support for each form of gender affirmation was associated with lower odds of experiencing bias-based verbal and sexual harassment in the past 12 months, with support for legal and social affirmation associated with lower odds of experiencing bias-based physical harassment. Support for each form of gender affirmation was associated with lower odds of experiencing homelessness." Why would you want to make it so that trans and nonbinary and takatāpui young people have more suicidal ideation, more phychological disress, higher anxiety, and lower happiness? Why would more young people attempting suicide be an acceptable price to pay for your imported culture war? Why would you knowingly do something that iincreased the risk of young people experiencing physical harrasment, or homelessness? These are the impacts we can unfortunately expect from your cruelty.

Paris Fashion Week was a mixed bag, some absolute dogshite (Jean Paul Gaultier) some things that made me excited (Celine, Valentino, Akris) I eagerly await these themes working their way into normal people fashion. 🙏 Gimme statement sleeves. Gimme splashes of drama!
A celine micro mini dress, very reminiscent of mod style, high neck and long sleeve with a glorious yellow red and blue floral print on black. A valentino women's black velvet suit with an accordian like collar/peplum on one side in vibrant metallic gold A long sleeved maxi dress of freams. Print reminiscent of Monet's water lillies. Another high neck! Taylor Zakhar Perez in a glorious cream knitted tshirt. Kinda like If lace was masc? You can't see the movement here but it had an absolutely glorious flow, as did his wide legged emerald green trousers.

My submission to the Summary Offences (Demonstrations near residential premises) amendment bill. "This bill is reactionary and disgusting. Making ANY sort of protest illegal is fascist behaviour. Making the privileged uncomfortable is not the same is doing harm. If you want to not have protests outside of your house maybe try to not be a racist/far right nightmare whose government is intent on doing the worst, most harmful and cruel thing at any given time. Prime Minister, I thought I couldn't be surprised by a response, but this is morally repugnant. 46% of the population of Palestine is under 18. 70% of the deaths in Gaza are women and children. These figures are confirmed by the UN. We recognise all sorts of vicious and violent regimes, we even call some of them allies. What I gather from your politics is that it's worth doing when there's economic benefit to be had. i'm geuinely curious, what impact, do you think, man-made famine, withholding medical aid, bombing, ethnic cleansing, and genocide will have on the future generations? Do you think it will make them peaceful? You say "when not if" but how do you suppose Palestine can run free and fair elections in the current conditions? What I'm hearing is: You choose continue to contravene the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. You have chosen the side of the oppressor. You refuse to recognise Palestine, and you refuse to sanction a state conducting a genocide. I never want to hear about you and your moral compass ever again. It was absolutely GALLING to hear you say you came into public life to make a difference like MLK and Jesus. I cannot fathom how you think that Jesus would condone such callous disrespect for human life and dignity. In the words of my favourite internet meme, "some of you are sitting at tables you were sent to flip." (Matthew 25: 41-44) I am appealing to your conscience, even though I can find no evidence that you have one: The The best time to act was years ago. The next best time to act is now. Demand the safe passage of aid from the Samud Freedom Flotilla which carries multiple New Zealanders on board, because if the government isn't going to have the moral courage help Palestine the least you can do is support our brave citizens trying to get baby formula and medical aid to the region.
