I’m watching the Titan submarine/OceanGate documentary on Netflix and all I have been doing is looking up Titan memes

Basically no one is satisfied in their jobs because they don’t push people to their full potential in the same way. As a history grad, my skills of research and analysis get a bit wasted at work. And this graph is perfect for the maths grads.

This photo is cursed. Why does Rory Stewart look like Mason Verger from Hannibal?

And I can’t have this thread without Luther. This detective show surprised me. It isn’t like the others where good and bad are clearly distinguished. The line gets muddied very quickly as John Luther (Idris Elba) is faced with dilemmas to try and overcome to solve life or death situations.

Moving away from spy into crime, this next one has always been a favourite of mine. A Touch of Frost is a show I have loved since I was a kid. David Jason’s portrayal of a workaholic detective with a strong moral compass is so powerful. The episodes had kid me gripped with the drama and mystery.

Following on from this with a brilliant film, there is none better than Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Gary Oldman’s portrayal of John Le Carre’s George Smiley is brilliant as he tries to identify the Russian Mole in British intelligence. Subtle, suspenseful with a brilliant cast and soundtrack.

Starting with Homeland. Perhaps one of my favourite TV shows at covering espionage and geopolitics. It starts with Carrie Mathison (Claire Daines) working as a CIA officer trying to determine if rescued POW Sgt Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) has been turned against his country.

I watched Traitors properly for the first time last night (i.e. when it was first broadcast)

The Roundtable is induced paranoia with wild accusations

“You did this thing which feels like something a traitor would do.”
“Ah well you identified that which is exactly what a traitor would do” #traitors

I was looking at this while drunk on the way home and started saying it aloud. I kicked myself when I realised.

I’m sorry but this is really funny. He was appointed three months ago to secure a govt and agree a budget. He bulldozed parliament to get the budget through using special powers. Parliament had no confidence in him and voted him out. Viva la France 🇫🇷
