The Fetterman of the West has thoughts on the shutdown.

This is an excellent piece on Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, the Fetterman of the West.
The Betrayals of Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
The representative from Washington has been hailed as the future of Democratic politics. But for those of us who actually live in her district, she’s just more of the same.

It's also way past time for Democrats like yourself to actually say out loud that Donald Trump was not just a friend of Jeffrey Epstein, but also a fellow pedophile.

Yes. Bob Dole has a legitimate claim as one of the fathers of Obamacare.

Nothing has changed since March...
Hard to avoid concluding that Senators Murray, Warren, Booker, etc specifically avoided talking about their cloture positions because they knew about Schumer's plan. Betrayal.
November 11, 2025 at 1:58 PM
Exactly like March...
My senators voted no on both cloture and the CR, but knowing what we know now about Schumer's cynical plan, even that is meaningless. Schumer has made everyone a suspect.

Constituent here. Talk is cheap, as are throw-away symbolic votes. If you aren't calling for Schumer to step down as leader, I will assume you were complicit in his deception and betrayal.

You can keep posting how you voted NO, and I will keep replying that it is meaningless unless you're calling for new leadership (just like last time).
Any Democratic Senators not calling to oust the "Leader" that voted against ~80% of them is complicit in Schumer's betrayal. Boycott Democratic fundraising until he steps down.

Constituent here. Just like before, it's not enough to vote no. Call for Schumer to step down or you're just participating in Kabuki theater...again.

You're probably right, but it's weird that reporters, columnists, and photographers put their names on their work, but not the headline writers. I get tired of all the bitching about bad headlines when there's an obvious solution to the problem that rarely gets mentioned.
November 10, 2025 at 11:31 PM
Remember this? I do. Your HELL NO vote is meaningless if you're not calling for Schumer to step down.
(1/2) I heard @jeff-merkley.bsky.social on the radio today. He was adamant that Schumer screwed up, but when asked about ousting him as leader, Merkley said elections are every 2 years 🙄. Like a concerned Susan Collins, he seems to think Schumer will have learned his lesson by September.

Headlines need bylines. For the life of me, I can't figure out why writers aren't leading the charge on this. It's the most basic form of accountability.

I appreciate Josh's perspective, but the Overton window is not going to shift itself, so I'm more than OK with people demanding more fight from their Democratic representatives.

Thus time is no different. Ro Khanna is now calling for new leadership. Why aren't you and the other "no" voters?
