Watched a talk recording yesterday where the speaker mentioned that a map of germany on the slides was AI generated and I just went "????" AI images on slides often look like shit, mainly because they tend to lack intentionality and are whitespace fillers without much thought. But for maps?

Had another twenty mintues to kill and added to my scene. I have to say, while I am somewhat capable of doing composite/color correction even in blender thanks to the video editing I am used to do, shader and texture stuff is just beyond me. But you should do things just because they are fun.

Tip of the day: There are ton of free resources for all kinds of things out there. You can use them and play around if you need something to fill a bit of time. I spend like 20 minutes playing around in Blender and setting a small scene because why not. Also tried to create a texture and failed lol.

People in the USA get checked by their Border Patrol even 100s of miles away from their borders, they can't even take a plane right now, and we smug Europeans are just willy nilly travelling all over the place between our countries. Feels strange.
Took the day to not doing anything productive and left the country. Spend some time two countries over and went to a museum there before heading back home.
Gotta be honest, this EU thing is a sweet deal when it comes to travel. Just going through 2 countries without a passport and just id is fun.

Me then: I don't need to make a class for this, I don't want to have so many different objects flying around.
Me now: technically (not really) if I make a new type and then a function that parses the base case to that type, it is not a class; even though it ends up doing all the things a class would

The bug I had at least gave me this strip of my inner demon creature. It is notably not a fuckup in terms of me not using the pixel color format right, just every check was off by a factor of four, so it got four smaller versions of the one big image, each with small changes to the others.

Got sidetracked again and added the basis of some recompression for gifs. Now it also works with gifs where the images within the gif already have different dimensions and offsets. There was a bug in the code that took me like 15 minutes to find and boiled down to multiplying an index twice.

It is so cool that you can be an outright evil guy, wreak havoc at a governmental level with firing people, cutting programs you have no idea of, and being like a rodent in the server rooms, do a nazi salute on stage and television, and then get handed more money than some countries GDP.

Ich kenn mich da mit den Gepflogenheiten nicht aus. @sicherheitspod.de weiß bestimmt ob bei einer Situation, wo ggf. das Essen der Soldaten knapp wird, nicht die Bundeswehr bzw. der Deutsche Staat aushelfen würde. Uniformierte bei der Tafel wären schon allein PR-mäßig nicht gut.
For a moment there was information for US Soldiers in Bavaria with a "Running list of German support organizations for your kit bags" which included among other things the Tafel, a german food bank. The list has since been removed, likely because Soldiers would not qualify for some of these orgs.

I just realized that this gif of Leon doing a backjump is likely the first gif where I have seens the application extension come after the first graphic control extension. It is allowed per the specs, but the way most software would create a gif it just rarely happens.

Working on making drawing on the images easier. There is still an issue with images using a global colortable which leads to them not being automatically re-rendered after being changed, but that is just a cosmetic thing.
