Living on Wurundjeri land.

Life, the Universe, and Doggos.

Books and coffee are life.
Last time I flew the airport wanted gazillion $ for 1 bottle of water. All water bottle refill stations were 'out of order'... probs to force people to spend a millionbillion $ on water.

Remembering that I have paid $5 for 2 bottles of water at 7/Eleven. Hopefully domestic security lets me through.

Standing outside 7Eleven, 8 Ferraris have just driven past. Weird and noisy.

More #sandwichgeneration feels today.

21yo is having major executive functioning issues with NDIS, so am making ph calls for them.

Dad & his office manager have been messaging and calling about sale of his business that I'm supporting him through.

Meanwhile I'm at work too because I need my job.

Thank goodness for coffee because 5am is too early to be a functional human bean

Anxious about flying so my bag is packed and ready to go a week early.

Anxiety is weird, sometimes I'm ready weeks early, other times I'm throwing things together last minute.

This trip seems to be a pack light and hope for the best, unlike last time when I packed everything and the kitchen sink.

Argh someone else is reformer room at gym and they are using my reformer! I have to use a different one. Eek

Doing that thing again where I look at my work emails on my phone, hoping somehow they will be different to the work emails on my laptop.

#ADHDthings ?? Or just really stressed and overwhelmed things ??

Eldest spawn has spent 2 hours removing dog diarrhoea from stairs. I'm so grateful to them.

How is my morning going? Dog diarrhoea all over the stairs, exploded sardine tin leaked fish juice all over pantry, the compost bin lid was left open overnight.

My home stinks so bad, I'm nauseous. All doors & windows open.

I have to work today and am currently voluntarily drinking instant coffee

Dealing with dog diarrhoea at 5am before coffee is ... something. Zero out of ten, do NOT recommend

Getting to gym 30min before PT to warm up on treadmill. Who even am I?

My currently reading / listening list is bookish escaping from reality.

#sandwichgeneration feels.

Sorting out NDIS issues for my children, whilst juggling messages about my Dad's health and apartment sale.

21yo slept on couch again last night. Even though we had AC running upstairs till late.

It was another warm night and forecast to hit 37⁰C/98.6⁰F today.

I reckon we will have ice cream for dinner.

Husband had to be at work super early today. He dropped me off at office at 7am and I thought I'd slowly ease into my morning. But my boss is already here 😮😯😲.

Coffee is required.

Nothing quite wakes you up like Kangaroos merrily hopping onto the road in front of your car.

Our brakes work.

Thankfully brakes on bus driving towards us (on other side of work) also work.

No Kangaroos were harmed in the writing of this post.

Read 5 books over the weekend, 2 murder mysteries, 2 urban fantasy novels and 1 romance.

Escaping to book worlds much easier than dealing with reality of life. Sadly it is Monday morning and reality must intrude.

Thankfully work will soon provide its own escape from reality.

Alarm went off for work.

I get up to find husband is sleeping on the floor. Okay then. Dog's both sprawled across his side of the bed, explains why I slept so well.

Go downstairs to find 21yo asleep on living room couch. Okay then.

Was a warm night, assume they found sleep wherever they could.

I would really like to have some cake. But the concept of a wheat free, dairy free, egg free cake, that does not contain any high fructose / fructan foods (pear, apple, banana etc) hurts my brain. So I shall have a cup fo green tea and a nap instead. #LowFODMAP

Yesterday I focused on resting, read 2.5 books, napped a lot and did the bare minimum (picked up groceries and made dinner). Was much needed after the stressful week.

Today my #EssentialTremor has gone wild, I'm shaking like a leaf.

Annoyingly I need clothes for work, so laundry has to be done

Dad's bronchoscopy has come back with answers, they've got him on a new treatment now. Hopefully he will be discharged Tuesday and go to my brother's.

It's all a bit exhausting.
January 18, 2025 at 7:22 AM
Dad's starting to improve, he's hopeful the hospital will send him home on Monday or Tuesday next week. 🤞

He will be moving in with my brother and sister-in-law. Glad they will be caring for him.

Local kangaroo mob have decided our street is the place to hang out this week. It's making driving in evenings, at night and early morning quite interesting.
