We believe everyone has some familiarity with all tasks. So I've been teaching one of our people how to dip in the clear overglaze, & another one how to load. So now one has green glaze all over, and the other has been inducted into the Order of Elrond Half-shelven. Well done my padawans. ;)

We had a Paint with Puppies event this last weekend in partnership with Pasado's Pet Rescue, and we met this newest member of our family there. Meet Quorra, here at the shop today for the first time:

Tonight's Potty Mouth Night and we're getting ready, but I'm still making "toooo cute" faces about this tiny frog a customer put inside the rim of their piece.

I went down a rabbit-hole about Arabian calligraphy, and ran into this. Just gorgeous.
This is an old friend from grad school: an earthenware bowl in the collection of @metmuseum.org made in 10th century Nishapur, Iran. It has an inscription in Arabic that reads “Planning before work protects you from regret; prosperity and peace.” 🖤

Sooo many handprints/footprints for Father's Day! I've been annoying small children by smearing mud on them and having them give things a high-five all morning. ;)

It’s my tribute to the legend @keithbrymerjones.bsky.social I bloody love Keith and his emotional reactions to contestants pots on @potterythrow . So I made him into a Seal, of course! He’s giving the ‘Seal of Approval’ - by crying, and saying his standard, choked up, “Absolutely brilliant, mate”

SecUnit hates that physical affection! Read the Murderbot Diaries by @marthawells.com and watch the new Murderbot show if you haven't already. Most relatable robot human construct 🤖

These soon-to-be #SodaFired #Pride tumblers will NOT be ready for #WoodenvillePride sadly, but they WILL be ready for #KirklandPride! More information here:

This mug turned out amazing. This person hadn't ever painted ceramics before, but they were familiar with watercolors so they used a similar technique of building layers of color. Love it!

Getting ready for tomorrow morning's Mother's Day Brunch. The food and flowers are here, and prepping table decor and seating charts while fielding today's birthday party and painters. It's a Saturday! ;)

On top of glazing, we can help you apply actual gold and silver to your pieces to REALLY make them pop. It does require a second firing, so talk to us when you plan your piece and we can help.

It's starting to look like Christmas! At least on one of our display racks. ;) We've got several kinds and sizes of lighted trees, Nativity sets, figures, and a lot of ornaments. And there's more on the way. If you're ready to start your Kringling, come on in! #StuffingtonsCeramics #ceramics

We managed to fit all the pieces from last weekend in just one of our kilns, to my complete surprise. The credit goes to Joost and his favorite tool, Elrond Half-shelven. (it's a broken half-shelf that offsets just perfectly to allow the posts to hold it up be worked around efficiently)

A couple of 80's Murder Mystery Party pics of staff and friends. We're having a awesome time painting a ceramic glass with fingerprints on it for evidence. Then we'll be interrogating each other and eating pretzels and corn dogs and little Cinnabons and drinking Orange Julius!

Did you know that fired ceramics can be used as whiteboards? We use them for signage at our shop. They don't have to be plain white like this one -- just leave a spot with a light color for the writing!

Has anyone tried that metallic-sharpie-as-resist thing that's going around? If you have, have you tried it on cone 06 with Stroke-and-Coat? If so, how did it go?

My experiment with the crackle glaze was a huge success! Didn't turn out exactly right - the crackle glaze and the blue underneath it reacted in an unexpected way, and it was a repaired piece of bisque. It's probably going to end up with a plant in it. But I'm going to do this again for sure.

Today we held our annual Paint with the Police event- officers came in to hang out and paint. I got to scritch Oscar the police dog again, so as far as I am concerned it was a complete win! I painted this experimental cup with crackle glaze to see if it will look like an ancient mosaic. We'll see!

We've got a studio-full for our May monthly Potty Mouth Night. People are eating and drinking and painting pottery and spilling the tea all over with their friends. And it's awesome!

Our shop-dog, Loki, may be comfy. :)

Working with the younger staff on doing this social media thing. We'll get this Insta/Tik/whatever thing figured out. ;) In the meantime, here's a pic of one of my favorite pieces to come out lately.
