I’m still not feeling 100%, but this Common Goldeneye was definitely feeling himself (a few months ago).

A Northern Flicker stands in the green grass. A Northern Flicker is a large Woodpecker. It is brown with thin black bars on the back and black spots on the belly. Its undertail has a bright white spot on it, so it’s relatively easy to ID in flight. It has a large black crescent-shaped mark on its chest. Its underwings and tail flash yellow-ish in flight (called “Yellow Shafted” in the east, western Northern Flickers tend to flash red and are “Red Shafted”).
