If ever you visit Chicago, I can recommend the architecture tour. It’s fascinating and gives you some great insights into the history of the city. Which is pretty recent for a Brit but fascinating all the same! I’ve always been a fan of those corn cobs…

@ken6-11.bsky.social Hi Ken - we were speaking about dream states a few weeks ago. I’m reading this study on sleep paralysis - it’s an easy read. But quite important I think. Also - he does not prescribe anti-supernaturalism or supernaturalism in his analysis. #uncannycommunity

Not only does this excellent work provide a robust refutation against the idea that the resurrected Jesus was a ghostly apparition, it also makes a strong case for the ontological reality of many ghostly apparitions!

5000 years ago, Mesopotamians didn’t ask whether or not ghosts might exist. They asked what could be done about ghostly intrusion into their daily lives. Finkel is an Assyriologist at the British Museum. He also describes a close friend’s ghostly encounter from 1958. #UncannyCommunity
