In local news for me. Due to budget cutbacks we are now down to a single notarzt (emergency doctor) in my area.
So they will now be flying out the doctor via helicopter to the surrounding countryside towns for medical emergencies that require an onsite doctor.
Seems crazy.

I just want to take the opportunity, although a day late, to mention my grandmother Joan who served during WWII in a hospital to treat those soldiers who were suffering from biological and chemical weapon attacks.
She later became David Bowies mothers private nurse.
She was awesome and is missed.

Lovely day to cross the Elbe and pick up my Delica from the only mechanic in Northern Germany willing to fix it.
2200 Euros this time around. I do love my van, but this is the last time it gets fixed if it breaks down.

I will also note that coming from Vancouver we also omit the Chinese unlucky floor numbers in most buildings as well. At least where I lived in Yaletown as it was all HK developers post 97 in the Expo land [pic below].

On a positive note. I also remember that today is the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on Nov 9 1989.
This is a reminder that dictatorships do not last and that we are better together.

There is no way they will just obey the law at the end to allow a peaceful transfer of power.
