Can't stop exploring this incredible view sent back from Mars by Curiosity. If anyone could add a scale to these features I'd really appreciate it. Images: Credits: NASA/JPL-Caltech/LANL/Additional processing S Atkinson

There was a time, back there in September, when the rain refused to stop and the clouds refused to part, that I thought I wouldn't get even one half decent image of Comet Lemmon before it headed back into the Deep Black.

Glad I was wrong... :-)

The clouds graciously parted to allow me to take one last Seestar image of Comet Lemmon before we head home tomorrow. The comet is past its best now and will fade quickly. You weren't a Great Comet, but I thought you were brilliant. I'm going to miss you, my Kielder Comet. :-)

Best images of Comet Lemmon taken from the Autumn 2025 Kielder Star Camp using my Seestar S50. Looking forward to processing the raw subs properly when we get home!

Managed to grab a few more images of Comet Lemmon this evening (Sunday Oct 26th) from Kielder Campsite, Northumberland, through very brief gaps in the clouds. This is a phone-processed stack of half a dozen jpg images taken with my Seestar S50.

What's it like waking up at 5am at Kielder Star Camp, after a rainy, foul night, and looking outside to find the sky is sparkly clear?

If you've any interest in space, whether you're a reporter, a working scientist or just an enthusiast, *DO NOT FOLLOW THIS ACCOUNT* It is a content-scraping parasite account that shamelessly steals the work of others & posts it without credit or acknowledgement. It even admits it! SHARE this post!

Wow, look how much Comet Lemmon has changed in a month! These were both taken with my Seestar S50, the first from Kendal, the second from Kielder Campsite. Maybe not a Great Comet, but a great comet, for sure :-)

Today is the 62nd anniversary of Felicette's flight into space. Most people know Laika's story, or have at least heard of her, very few know about the first - and only - cat to fly into space. This is her *full* story, honest and tragic, available as an ebook/paperback from Amazon.

Jess clearly stressed from being dragged away in the caravan again...

Took more pics of Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) this morning, and despite Kendal's ghastly light pollution, the bright moonlight & banks of proper Jack the Ripper fog rolling over Kendal again and again I guess this one isn't too bad... Seestar S50, October 13th 2025.

Very quick phone stack of some of this morning's Seestar images of Comet Lemmon taken from light-polluted Kendal, Cumbria... Roll on the dark skies of Kielder Star Camp from tomorrow night :-)
