There was an article during MeToo about how powerful men are seen as intellectual giants who can run economies while not being smart enough to know what sexual assault is.
Now we see a similar dynamic, where Musk is a genius who can co-run the US while being too stupid to know what a Nazi salute is.

something to take away from the tiktok ban nonsense: info can disappear, whether it's sites going down or censorship. download important things & save them on a hard drive or flash drive. make it harder for them to re-write history.

this site lets you download videos by pasting the link to a post:

Prior to Covid it was normal to mask in the NICU. People understood that premature babies are as vulnerable as they come and need to protected.

Now? Gowns & gloves but no masking.

The damage caused by anti mask rhetoric will be felt for years (possibly decades) to come.

By intentionally naming Trump, TikTok is signaling its intention to be used as a tool to spread right wing propaganda. Extremely disturbing.

Trump hated TikTok (because China) until it helped him win an election (as even he acknowledges) and now he’s going to save it and take a victory lap. So he’ll have X, TikTok, Insta, and Facebook all working on his behalf. That’s a big difference between now and 2017.

TikTok had a massive community of #ActuallyAustistic people, likely the largest autistic community in the world ever. It included all ages and speakers and non-speakers.

It also had a large chronically ill community.

The potential loss of community for many otherwise isolated folks is significant.

"You're not like my 8 year old autistic son!"

Many things are out of kids control - uncomfy clothes, loud noises, food, confusing rules.

As an adult, I make my own choices. I wear, eat and do what I like, if I don't, I get overloaded.

That's why I don't remind you of your 8 year old autistic son.
