Probably some of it, but the trend for scope 2 in particular has continued upward despite a significant return to in-person work, with a bigger jump from FY21-22 and FY22-23 than FY20-21

Great article. I'd add that we're currently getting tricked into reliance on the next iteration of tech - AI - the same way we became reliant on the current crap. It's priced below cost, not yet monetized (i.e. filled w/ ads, selling your data), & promises to fix the current ratfuckery. Yeah ok...
