These two tots aren't cosying up with teddies - they've got plush (they must be plushies, right? skulls to cuddle. They're slumbering away at North Cerney, #Gloucestershire for #MementoMoriMonday

Love this tiny depiction of St Anne teaching the Virgin Mary to read in Rendcomb, #Gloucestershire, I presume one of the Flemish panels incorporated into the nave windows by Baillie in the 1850s #StainedGlassSunday, always loved this evidence of women's education by women.

A domestic scene at Stanton Harcourt, #Oxfordshire, for #AdoorableThursday, the watering can quietly awaits its duties as Spring gets into gear by this soft C12th door - note the marks scratched on the right - a mass dial? Or?

Blockley, #Gloucestershire, on a grey day for #SteepleSaturday, with its C18th tower by Thomas or Edward Woodward of Chipping Campden - all plain classicism in the first three stages, then suddenly gothic frou frou appears on the top stage!

Two gorgeous #WindowsOnWednesday by Nora Yoxall and Elsie Whitford, 1974, at Blockley, #Gloucestershire, made when the artists were 82 and 77 respectively. Glorious celebration of the local scene! Don't miss them - they're in the porch.

Well, #gardenescapes - managed four on today's #Stroud walk - marigold, grape hyacinth, snowflake and, apparently, scilla forbesii - as well as some bangingly pink polyanthus in the woods #wildflowerhour

For #StainedGlassSunday, just one of the John Piper delights I saw in St Andrew, #Plymouth, #Devon, on Thursday - a thrill. 'Resurgam' was the motto of the church after the #WW2 bombing, and Piper made 5 windows with Patrick Reyntiens from 1958 - this is the west, a crucifixion.

For #TombTuesday and #TraceryTuesday, the 1st tomb of William Canynges, d. 1474, in St Mary Redcliffe, #Bristol. The city merchant has two, this one in his mayoral robes, the other next door, with him as as a priest, as he was ordained after his wife's death.

For #Wildflowerhour #YellowFlowers we have coltsfoot by the canal in #Stroud, and gorse, primrose, lesser celandine on @nationaltrust Shortwood. Greater celandine in bud in town, but no flowers yet!

Fabulous #Hereford #SundayStonework from the museum @HerefordMuseums building by F R Kempson, 1874, and carved by Robert and William Clarke, of course! Plenty here for heron, squirrel, bat and croc fanciers!

St Matthew's, Ebley, #Stroud, for #SteepleSaturday, built by Charles Baker of Painswick, 1835-7 in austere early gothic style. You have no clue about the free gothic, slightly #ArtsandCrafts east end by Walter Planck behind it!

Just setting up for my next #sellout talk @museuminthepark, #Stroud, on a fave topic - especially so close to #InternationalWomensDay2025 - women in the #ArtsandCrafts in the #Cotswolds! Such a lovely museum, team and audience with which to work!

Drama in Ebley, #Stroud, for #FontsOnFriday! Finally got into St Matthew's, which I'd only seen by peering through that west door. Here's the view from the other side. Font by Walter Planck, subtly free gothic, 1895, in the 1830s tower, with window by Belham & Co., also 1895.

A perfect little #AdoorableThursday from the chancel of the Lord Mayor's Chapel, #Bristol, frothingly foliate ogee, about 1500 - tho' restored? #AnytimeAngels, #Victorian (I assume) door, and a glorious floral spray announcing spring and summer to come. Swoons!

My traditional #StDavidsDay image from a #stainedglass window by Rod Friend in Edge, #Gloucestershire with little lambs and the all-important #daffodils (and cowslips...) all for #March and the beginning of #Spring! What I require in the face of all that is awful in the world!
