I need projects in my holiday. This year I digitised grandma's cookbook so we can all have a copy and cos it's fragile (and because I borrowed it & have to return it to a cousin). She started it in 1947 (when she married), and used it for about 60 years! And now we can all make Heavenly Pie.

Help Aotearoa garden friends, what is this plant? I can’t remember if it’s one I planted. Could it be a type of borage? Maybe it’s a weed?

Potatoes! Potatoes! My Irish ancestry has been prodding me to plant potatoes - so when the kabillionty public servants are made redundant and we can’t pay our bills, at least we can eat potatoes. In addition to these ones, I also dug up a chunk of our lawn and planted it in potatoes🤣 🇳🇿🌱

Apple trees are blossoming. Gorgeous blooms of spring. This year I’m a gonna get rid if the fecking coddling moth. And we’re going to have apples to share!

I have many family treasures, mainly collected from grandma’s house after she died. I fossicked in the collection today for a cousin and found absolute gold. This one is titled Christmas tea 1936. I love everything about it, including the Jesus. A blast to have this collection of family history.❤️

So productive (spuductive?) today. 🥔 I got my early crop of spuds in the ground. These ones are Ilam Hardy. I've never done spuds before so it's all a bit of an experiment. Gotta be better than investing in the weed-lawn. Later in October I'm gonna get some Agria and Rua in the ground. 🥔🥔 🥔

Send me your potato growing tips! My Irish ancestors are calling me to plant potatoes. So i dug up a bit if our weedy lawn, dug in horse, sheep and chicken poo 🤮 and am ready to plant potatoes. Seed spuds are currently sprouting in dark shed.
