Today is the last day to take the @SFCTA survey about the future of transportation in SF!

The SF County Transportation Authority wants to know how you would prioritize transportation investments over the next 30 years.

Take the survey and share your thoughts!

📣 Transit funding update: Good news for Muni & BART!

The legislature rejected Gov. Newsom's $1.1B in transit cuts!

And will extend a $750M loan to Bay Area agencies to prevent service cuts.

Only one step left: @governor.ca.gov has to sign

Long lines & waits for Muni?

It's hard to remember now, but trains and buses used to be unreliable in SF

Because Muni didn't have enough $$ to maintain and repair its fleet

If the state leg and @CAGovernor don't fund transit now, this is our future again 😱

HUGE NEWS: SB 79 by @scottwiener.bsky.social PASSES THE SENATE FLOOR -- This bill upzones areas near major transit!

This is great news, IMO! But if Newsom's budget proposals around transit aren't reversed most 15m corridors will go up in flames, and systems like BART could end up collapsing entirely. TOD only works with the T.

To protect SB79, we need to restore transit funding at the state level this year.
SB 79, California's effort to allow more apartment buildings within walking distance of train stations (similar to something Washington State recently passed) clears a major hurdle! Next stop, the State Assembly! 🚄🏘️
SB 79 PASSES OUT OF THE CALIFORNIA SENATE! 🎉🥑

It's budget season in Sacramento, and preventing the collapse of public transportation is low on Governor Newsom's priority list right now.

There are lots of important priorities in Sacramento, but CA can't afford to clog our roads with traffic.

More from SPUR 👇
The Governor's budget proposal puts $3 billion of funding for public transit at risk in the next 5 years. Even if you don't ride regularly, you will feel the effects of these cuts in the form of extra traffic.

The full Senate passed our legislation to authorize a Bay Area regional revenue measure to fund public transportation & avoid massive service cuts.

SB 63 is a critical part of stabilizing our transit systems & strengthening them for our region’s future.
