With Combustion, that is. Total propulsive efficiency also stands in stark contrast to the intense mass of the vehicle, with EVs commonly as heavy as V8-powered pickup trucks and SUVs. No viable EV comes close to the material efficiency of a Geo Metro.

Naturally, but the point isn't what offers the most propulsive efficiency. The essential difference is that combustion offers so much energy that development is on harnessing it. EVs start with efficiency, and then everything else has to be developed on top of it which inherent and lighter.
