next up is TWO double pages:

Ruoye is flowing forward like it just came out of his sleeve. the visible side of his mask is smiling. on the ring finger of right hand (the one that's gesturing forward) is a red string tied into a butterfly knot with long wings flopping over. the string falls down, lays on the ground, then rises and loops a few times before disappearing at the paper edge on the left.

first page is basically illustration of my fanfic (which i'm still writing dw):

my homebrew zine in question:
the zine is a piece of A4 paper folded to make a little book that's currently kept closed by a pen leaning on it. the cover shows a white flower, bleeding, and white butterfly above it. the farthest wings of the butterfly are black and one of them is slowly breaking apart. tiny cartoon ghosts are swarming behind the butterfly's wings. it's titled "Hualian zine" in all caps, but "Hua" is crossed out in red and below it "Wu" is written also in red, making it "Wulian". The word "zine" is written also in red on the butterfly's wing, the letters curving to fit.

recently found this guide to making very easy, very homebrew zines. tried it with a random A4 piece of paper i had left after a doctor visit (several months ago bc i never fucking throw anything out) and can confirm it works. mine is a little wonky but it works.
6 steps to making a zine out of one rectangle piece of paper: fold in half lengthwise, fold the result of that in half other way, then fold in half again. open the paper to see creases making eight equal squares, six of them pages and two squares in the corner next to each are back cover and front cover. then fold this creased paper in hald NOT lengthwise, make a cut at the crease the same length as one square, so there's a slit in the middle of the list now. now fold lengthwise again, pop out the middle squares thanks to the cut, and fold everything at the creases to get a little book.

The summary is as follows: After dispersing in service of His Highness the Crown Prince of Xianle, nameless ghost puts himself together — but something goes wrong, and he ends up stuck in a wonderfully fluffy and shamefully weak animal form. Naturally, he tries to find His Highness anyway. If only these low-ranked ghosts didn't see him, decided to make a pelt out of him, and chased him into the woods on this gloomy mountain! Now he needs to evade them before continuing on his way... And this ominous, seemingly abandoned temple looks just like the place to do it.

sometimes nighttime pictures turn out really good #night #winter
Snow-covered expanse with black trees by the sides and a trail-shaped dip in the middle, the trail going between the trees to the vague city shapes beyond them. A single lantern lights the middle of the trail in warm orange light, light snowfall visible in the air underneath it. The are somewhat fresh animal tracks going down the trail, and older, human tracks visible in some parts of the snow off the trail.
