As I am officially an Old(TM) let me fill you in on something it took me until my thirties to learn:

If you're wrong, you can just admit it. It's actually really easy to do. And it has the added bonus of helping you improve.

If you refuse to accept that you made a mistake, you cannot grow from it.

So today, here is a picture of my mother's recorder. It has string coming out of it as I have it hung on the wall since I have small hands and sadly don't have the reach to be able to play it properly. People only ever remember recorders as that annoying thing from school but they can be much more 🙂

So today my daughter confessed she sent me noodles she considered too spicy to eat in amongst the stuff she sent back with @criticalcupcake.bsky.social (and apologised!). I had already eaten them and am now slightly bemused as I still consider myself a lightweight in terms of spice tolerance.

Well it's that time of year again. The seagull's fledglings are learning to fly so the garden is a danger zone until they get the hang of it. This year at least they didn't make it inside, but here's a pic from last year....

Promised myself I would post something here each day. So here is a picture, painted by my great aunt that I inherited from my grandmother... of me. I don't post selfies so this will have to do! Although I am a little bit taller and a lot less blond now. 🙂

I was playing it just as soon as I could read, mapping out the cave (and the mazes). It was the first game I remember playing with him.

I am so very tired of being tired.

Even with my best efforts to manage my fatigue I still have far too many days where I can't focus enough to do anything beyond struggle through my absolute baseline responsibilities.

I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually but right now it sucks.
