Pizza Tower easily the best pure platformer of the last decade. Very tight level design, and genuinely well done (and demanding) ranking system. The Noise seemed like a mostly easier character because it was so easy to cancel in and out of things so you lose some of the committal appeal.

I’ve talked about this before but it’s a huge part of why Once Upon a Time in America is my favorite movie. It’s so beautiful and tragic but does not shy away from what they are and really acknowledges how dirty and dishonorable they are. Really highlights their lack of moral compass.

Yeah, it’s like the best real time inventory/item management in an action game ever. Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn deserves a nod in that department as well, but it’s so awesome in 5.

And yeah I’m very aware of Tiger Road and been playing it here and there. It’s the one that captured my attention most. Enemies feel more like beatemup enemies there, which I obviously am fond of.

I’ll be nice and say he was using that as a footing to talk about games with randomness vs deterministic games. But… maaaaaaaaan. LOL
