I love being a world-builder
We LOVE how many scripts you get to read in this community!

We are reading about seven unproduced scripts a month along with our Script Club (lead by @kendrachristel.bsky.social) which reads a produced script every month for discussion.

Loving story is a big part of writing story.

I don’t know how many people know the story about how YOUNGBLOODS was supposed to be a drama, but anyway, here is when it started to get away from me and I was like, “Well, shit. WTF am I supposed to do now?” So I just said “fuck it” and let it do its thing. #scriptsky

Until the next session!
Profound,

Thanks again for embracing my short and offering such insightful guidance!

And thanks to everyone in the Cast for giving it so much vitality that will also help me revise it and make it sing more smoothly!

There is no Plan B or Second Nature ...

But we can outsmart the inevitable!

Just a quick postscript to Profound and everyone who contributed with their suggestions after the Table Read.

I've eliminated the CALLER #1, #2 etc. and put in their actor names.

Now to the challenging changes of your other ideas!

Note from DQ: Muchas Grass!

SCREENWRITER AXIOMS FOR PITCHING

Relax, they want to you do well.

Don't pitch every scene. Detailed Act 1, summarize Act 2, bring it all together in end.

They'll sched an hour. Pitch is 25. Rest is preamble and Qs after.

Memorize, read, riff... doesn't matter. Just be confident and passionate.

3 non-negotiables to being a better screenwriter:

1.) Read screenplays.
2.) Write screenplays.
3.) Watch movies.

BUT

• Don't just watch, break down the movie's structure, too. See the story's 30k foot view.

• Read FEWER classics; favor NEWER scripts and plenty of recently sold specs.
