Natural affinity for crows, black dogs, bad weather, small towns and everday people. Trying to grow without land, thrive without money, and rememer what matters. Métis in Canada.
Brave settlers “built a civilization out of wilderness” and “repelled wave after wave of Indian war band attacks”… this guy! A complete inversion of reality on display. I’m sending him a copy of Custer Died for Your Sins and Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee for his birthday.

So true. By hottest, perhaps he’s referring to the dumpster fire and other destruction he and his ilk have been stoking.

I’m not seeing this information in the article.

Thank you - was just thinking the same!

Unless someone stops him… careful now, James Comey. That sounds dangerously close to incitement.

But less of the hoarding to cause shortages and drive up your prices. Truly despicable behaviour, if that’s what wholesalers and distributors are doing.

I can’t disagree

Danielle Smith as ever sounds a single note: oil and gas until the end of days. I don't see it as surprising in any way that a federal government could have competing priorities. The enviro minister's focus should not be oil and gas. There's an energy and natural resources minister for that.

Wow, that's dark - but yet I can see the potential, and I won't be able to unsee it.

If you see this, post your getaway vehicle.

I’m not sure I can see a positive outcome for Carney in sitting down with the Don. This is such a high stakes move. Trump has lost all sense of reality in the sycophantic echo chamber he lives in. Even if Trump offers an olive branch, how can anything he says be trusted?

Fred DeLorey’s comment points to one priority for this voter. He asserts that a strong NDP is good for the Conservatives. In my books, time for the NDP and Libs to talk. The vote splitting has got to end.

There’s no shortage of American voters genuinely surprised that Trump meant what he said in his campaign. MAGA is not only working-class warriors enjoying the shared rage at weekend rallies. It’s an intentionally constructed juggernaut that is also being built piece by piece in Canada.

Poilievre? Hard to say. He's still the leader of the opposition (which is the party in parliament that has the most number of seats after the government). This is an official role - with a special residence and staff. But he didn't win a seat, so his party could dump him as leader. To be continued!

Doug Ford interfering in municipal issues as he rips into judges for interfering in municipal issues. Zero irony.

This is a display of illness, profound illness in the depths of the soul.
April 30, 2025 at 3:44 AM
Conservative voters may not themselves be MAGA, but the party leader has some pronounced leanings.

You're so right. Totally unacceptable.

Fair point
April 29, 2025 at 5:00 PM
I don’t know. I’m a Canadian happy about the election outcome. But 41% of voters backed the MAGA-like Conservative. The toxic ex is still on speed dial.
April 29, 2025 at 4:43 PM
Yes! So many people I know want this, and yet it seems like it’s commonly accepted that this will never happen, after the various failed attempts.
April 29, 2025 at 4:39 PM
I recognize a 4th Liberal term is a good result, and would have been unbelievable 5-6 months ago. But, there's some big qualifiers. Good chance Libs will have a minority govt, and 41% of voters chose Conservative. Oh, and we virtually wiped out our socialist party. It's not all good.

Just one criminal I’d like to see leave the country.
