I love antique shops that used to be something else. Found a former school in Burlington, Wisconsin that is now an antique mall with several booths.

The Rustic Barrel is a wonderful shop and well worth a visit. Some handmade goods, some home goods, some antiques.

Tin laudanum medical case from the RMS Cedric. Cedric was one of the Big Four Class of ships from the White Star Line. The Cedric pre-dated White Star's famous ship, RMS Titanic, and was the largest ship in the world at the time of her maiden voyage from Liverpool to New York in 1903.

Labeled as an antique Victorian birdcage, made from wood and wire with a removable bottom tray. I see similar styles on eBay but can't find much information about them. Any #birdcage enthusiasts out there to comment?

Love the creativity and detail of a Toby mug.

A gold label in the top section identifies this as a Globe-Wernicke lawyer bookcase.

Founded in 1893 in Cincinnati, Ohio, they patented the modular bookcase style that could come apart to transport any particular shelf along on the judicial circuits as barristers traveled.

Someday I will buy one of these beautiful coffee grinders.

Enterprise Mfg Co, based in Philadelphia, made these cast iron grinders in the late 1800's/early 1900's. Restored, I've seen them go for over a thousand dollars.

Saw a lot of what I assume are decorative wooden capitals while antiquing last year. The trend appears to be turning them into candle holders. They were very heavy, so must have been pretty old wood.

In 1906, seven potteries across IL, MO and IA combined to form Western Stoneware. From what I can gather, the company is still in business but focused on digital art, the pottery side closing down in the early 2000's aside from smaller commissions they will take on. #antiques
