There is a weavery in the closest town. I have been converting old rags into a rug. This is great fun! In the old times, this is how most people made their rugs.

I was searching for an additional feeder for my chickens in a webshop. Did not find the feeder, but came across helmets for chickens! I have had the best laugh of my life!
Just thinking about chasing my little dinosaurs to wrestle the helmets on 🤣. Stuffing their wattles in.
Can't stop giggling!

Little joys of a simple life. I start my mornings by lighting the fire. A sourdough bread had been rising overnight, and now it came out of the oven smelling delicious.
The flour comes from a tiny family mill which grinds wheat in 6th generation from local organic farms.

It's freezing outside. How do I save energy without freezing my butt? In times gone by, folks were very good at keeping the warmth in without cutting down every last tree. Here are some great ideas.

If you want to do something good to yourself and the environment, start from eliminatic all plastics you can. Their production pollutes out drinking water. They make you ill and infertile in countless ways. They get ground into microplastics polluting the entire planet.

Preserving food without electricity is not hard, but we have largely forgotten those skills with freezers and fridges in every house.
Drying, curing, fermenting and pickling are age-old techniques that don't requite any technology.
