I used to drive my entire string quartet to gigs in my 1977 Austin Mini. Three people, two violin cases and a viola case in the back seat, the cello case upside down in the front passenger seat. By-standers would applaud when we all got out.

It's beyond me why high towers grouped like this don't have connecting bridges halfway up and/or at the top for emergency exit. It can be done.

Meanwhile, Toronto built a glorified concrete bus stop as its best attempt at public space.

Sankofa Square (originally and imaginatively named "Yonge-Dundas Square" after the two cross streets), in the heart of downtown.
A forlorn concrete plaza surrounded by high-rise buildings covered in garish illuminated advertising. There are small water jets in two rows, some red patio umbrellas and assorted chairs off to one side, and one single human, who is walking away. Not a scrap of greenery in sight.

Another Doug Ford fiasco: My curling club is getting shafted by The Beer Store's online ordering and delivery failures, and all the nearby Beer Stores for in-person shopping have closed thanks to Doug's mismanagement of the file.

The current Beer Store policy is that if you place an order that is less than $1500, you are assessed a $175 surcharge (in addition to a delivery charge). What is happening more often than not is that we place an order that totals more than $1500 based on the inventory shown on the Beer Store's website, but when we receive the delivery, it is missing items which were ordered so we end up not meeting the $1500 minimum and then we get stung by the $175 surcharge. And what is even more annoying is that they don't tell you in advance: if we we knew we were not getting the full delivery, we'd probably try and add other items so that we'd hit the minimum."
