Protect your archives. Record your histories, memories, conversations. Digitize them and save them in multiple locations. Donate your time, resources, and funds to your local community library and archive. Governments and states never speak the (whole) truth.

In response to Trump’s assertion, “He who saves his Country does not violate any Law,” we say:

This is where you go to tell the National Park Service to restore the word "transgender" in its entry on the Stonewall monument.

(Scroll down.)
Stonewall National Monument (U.S. National Park Service)
Before the 1960s, almost everything about living openly as a lesbian, gay, bisexual (LGB) person was illegal. The Stonewall Uprising on June 28, 1969 is a milestone in the quest for LGB civil rights a...

First time in a while I felt capable of doing more than just the bare minimum routine but I’m finally doing something with the handful of fat quarters and such I picked up a bit ago. Palette planning time!

Gatekeeping does NOT benefit detrans people.

Our paper on gatekeeping and detransition is now out! I’m immensely hyped for this paper, written in collaboration with wondrous scholars and including co-authors who have lived experience with detransition.

I have no more patience for liberal friends who jeer when working-class people are also harmed by Trump’s policies — especially those who didn’t vote or voted for him. Like I’ve read elsewhere, it’s giving “she deserves to be *ssaulted because she’s dressed like that.”

Do better.

They want to ban the teaching of the unpleasant facts of American history because people might conclude injustices in the past that contribute to inequalities in the present should be rectified, instead of their belief, which is that some groups of people are inherently superior to others

Being separated and having distance is so deeply clarifying.
This poem made me stop in my tracks.

I wish my students understood this.
No, I don't need a bloody copilot for this document, thank you.

Writing is, in no small part, a tool for thinking. If you outsource that element to a machine that cannot think, you shouldn't be surprised if, at the end of the process, neither you nor your reader are any the wiser.

Fall break means deep cleaning! It’s been too long since my last. I’m going to save the tea wash for next month, but I’m kind of stoked for how much better my home is gonna feel (and smell — gonna bake some dark chocolate chip pumpkin bread!) in a few hours.

If anyone’s looking for alternatives to GoodReads, I highly recommend StoryGraph. It’s owned by a black woman, and the platform is so much more accessible and easy to use.
