Inflation is bad, but I'm way more concerned about the fascist coup that has taken over our government in the past 12 days. Start shouting! Get all Dems to obstruct and vote NO on cabinet nominees. Arrest Musk for illegally breaching federal agencies and blocking Congressionally-approved fundings.

The Baby Boomers shaped our world through greed, benefiting from subsidized education, then resisting taxes and pulling the ladder up behind them.

Now, they cling to their wealth until death, while Gen X prefers to share their money with their kids while still alive.
Millennials and Gen X want to share wealth now. Boomers will wait until they're dead.
A survey of wealthy Americans by Charles Schwab reveals a fascinating generational divide over how, and when, we leave money to our heirs.

fun fact: my family and i do this pretty much every night since @852dude.bsky.social taught me about the buffalo part
I play a game with my kids at the dinner table each night. "High, low, buffalo"

High- best thing in your day
Low - worst thing in your day
Buffalo - anything you want us to know.

It's important my kids see me have lows, because shit isn't perfect all the time.

Devastating for scientists and their research, and everyone who benefits from that research.

I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or “pause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.
NIH appears to have canceled/postponed all of its study sections—the independent review panels that approve federal grants for health research.

Such grants fund the work/salaries of 300k people at more than 2,500 institutions
All NIH study sections canceled indefinitely. This will halt science and devastate research budgets in universities.
