Trump's $200mm ballroom is equal to an astronomical $2,200 per sq. ft. I know of a hotel project in NYC with construction costs of $650 psf. Is Trump including a developer's fee for himself or his company? The media should ask, and Congress should receive a detailed budget.

Trump and the Borg Queen of #StarTrek have something in common other than the same makeup artist and asexual reproduction. They both have proven that resistance is NOT futile. Thank you to the 7 million NO KINGS patriots! (Pop culture has its lessons.)

The philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche advised aspiring great souls to “Become who you are.” Angel Reese is revising the rules of what it means to be a female athlete. Thus, her added incarnation as a runway model is very … Nietzschean. And good for the WNBA brand.

Trump thinks he's the Fantastic Four movie's Invisible Woman. With his #ColumbusDay executive order, he is making the legacy of Indigenous Peoples invisible -- again. Don't be surprised if you see him prancing in a blue catsuit on Halloween.

Project REAP's new program for professional athletes is attracting growing interest -- as evidenced by this feature in Boston's premier Black newspaper. My thanks to Taneshia for keeping my vision alive!

Congrats to Project REAP’s Taneshia Nash Laird, who joined the NFL executive vice president, Troy Vincent, and his wife, Tommi, during an August 28th panel focused on Blacks in philanthropy. These challenging times require nonprofits to be creative in maintaining funding support.

Project REAP, the pioneering talent development initiative serving the commercial real estate industry, is advancing its 3P training program for active & retired players in #professionalsports. Glad for the press; not happy with the article title.

An African nation slightly smaller than the state of Maryland is emerging as the "Singapore of Africa." #Rwanda is rising from its notorious past, and it's a testament to its policies of cultivating human capital. Shall we say, "Wakanda Forever"?

Appeasement in Alaska. Alaska's senators should consider themselves fortunate that Trump didn't surrender the state to Putin during their 8/15/25 meeting. Once again, where Putin leads, #Donnie2Dolls follows. Echoes of Neville Chamberlain!

(Cont. from prior post.) My profound apologies for any insult to Kermit the Frog and other authentic sock puppets.

#ICE is promoting agent recruitment ads for volunteers to rid the nation "of criminals and predators." The image to the right suggests that never have truer words been spoken.

The annual celebration of America's iconic Black neighborhood is underway. Though Trump is attempting to erase Black history, he can't erase the #HarlemRenaissance. He can't erase #MalcolmX. He can't erase the Apollo or the Schomburg Center. #Harlem continues to write its indelible destiny.

As we approach America's 250th anniversary, I celebrate the scholarship of the #1619Project for illustrating the significance of stolen labor for the republic's formation. Expect the Trump Reich to go into overdrive to sanitize the nation's history. And to deflect from Epstein.

David Ellison, the Trump oligarch who just acquired CBS & #CBSNews, promised the FCC that he would eliminate “bias.” That’s really an acronym for “Blacks Inclined to Advance Self-Government.” Black talent at CBS should start looking for new jobs. And note his similarity to Eric Trump. Scary!

A common sight on many flights is a little old lady with an emotional support dog. A common sight at Defense Dept. meetings is #Hegseth with an emotional support spouse. That doesn't bolster the “lethal war-fighter” image he touts. Seems more like #DEI for the mediocre.

As July 4th approaches, Americans must face living through a second civil war. Only this time the Confederacy has won and it's implementing its own barbaric version of Reconstruction.

Like the Jewish holiday of Tisha B’Av, #Juneteenth marks remembrance of oppression committed against humanity. But unlike Tisha B’Av, it is embraced by Black Americans as a celebration of liberation. Yet it’s future is uncertain while the corrupt plantation master lives in the White House.

Saluting the legacy of the leader of Sly and the Family Stone on his passing. Sly was also a leader in diversity, as reported by the Wall Street Journal: The band was the first major music group “to include Black and white men and women.”

“Until the lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter.” This maxim from the novelist Chinua Achebe is a reminder of the necessity of #Blackhistory. Especially when Hegseth is erasing it from the military in favor of a Christian nationalist version.

It’s time to bring two senior citizens of dystopian fiction out of retirement to illustrate America’s decline: Orwell’s “1984” and Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451.” As the latter said: “You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.” #MichaelBJordan

I can thank Donald Trump for nothing except making the legacy of #MalcolmX more critical than ever in America. Today, 5/19/25, marks that human rights leader’s 100th birthday. He will not be forgotten -- regardless of how Hegseth and Linda McMahon try to erase Black history.

Americans are learning that Trump and Elon have offered leadership as authentic as the mythical talents of that German pop duo of the late-1980s: Milli Vanilli. We should note that their popularity vanished, too, when their packaged fraud was discovered. #TrumpElonareMilliVanilli

Tattoo totalitarianism: If any random body art becomes the basis for deporting people to an El Salvador concentration camp, how long will it be before Autocrat General Bondi deports Miley Cyrus? Trump is a wrecking ball swinging at the Constitution. #MAGAstupidity

More on stupidity: 4/9/25 marks 80 years since Hitler executed the German theologian and anti-Nazi activist, Dietrich #Bonhoeffer. His theory of stupidity analyzed how the German public fell sway to fascism. It remains highly relevant reading for post-millennial America.

This American republic is a marketplace of ideas. Many of us thought that the notion of #diversity had secured permanent space on Democracy’s grocery shelf, much like our favorite cereal. It is clear that we must continually clamor to keep that value available for consumption.
