thank god the red zone channel started running commercials. when it was commercial-free i'd get to 7:30 p.m., look at how i'd spent my day, and realize i'd burned through an entire sunday without growing or developing at all as a consumer. and if i'm not a consumer i'm nothing at all

Honestly, for me, this feels like the final straw. I get it - Microsoft is there to make money blah blah, but this truly feels like Xbox is over. The Switch 2 already took the spot of the Series X in my setup. I've been using more Linux and MacOS too.

I spend too much time thinking about the ways culture has splintered and shared experiences rarely exist at the scale that they used to, but the Olympics being on right now is making me think of that. I don't have a cable sub and don't read sports news, they're almost totally invisible to me now.
