Annie Duke was run out of the poker world for running a number of fraudulent poker tournaments and hasn’t shown her face at WSOP in over a decade. She fully transitioned to motivational speaking because she can’t hack it in the real poker space.

This feels like the end result of politicians, cable news and social media all realizing that "Your life is shit and should be better" is the best path to get power and profit. If it is the best path, how do we get out of it?

I've always taken the shoplifting surge as a reflection of our relationship with these giant organizations. "I am just a number to you so what I do to you doesn't matter." We all know or think that shoplifting is just a write off or something to these monoliths, so it doesn't really matter.

They definitely watch to see the "Say hello to my little friend." but then convince themselves they'd just be a better shot.

The same people who blame feminism will also bemoan people not wanting to work 80 hours a week for some monolith corporation then act in despair at these stats.

Don’t focus on wealth, focus on control. “This guy has more say on the price of your home than you do.”

The amount of insanity probably aided this as well. One scandal focused the attention and highlights a politician as a threat. The inability to just have one scandal for Trump makes the wide range of threats, from small to large, harder to fathom.

With whatever funds they “free up,” what can they even do with it given how Congress mandates spending?
