It's a bit windy up here and the birds don't like it.
Three-day wind speed chart for Mount Boyce. The key bit is that since 6am today to now, about 5.40pm, the wind speeds haven't increased steadily to more than 40 km/h with gusts over 75 km/h.

It's a bright sunny day and we're looking across the street at a pub, wide and low. Its upper storey is painted cream, with a row four arched windows. Below, it's painted a battered and faded burnt ochre, with rectangular windows and a central door. The upper signage reads "Gardner's Inn / 1831 / Rebuilt 1938". On the edge of the awning it reads "Gardner's Inn" alternating with "Carlton Draught". The pub continues either side out of frame. Two vehicles are parked out front, both metallic greay, one a small sedan and the other an SUV. In the upper right of the photo, on our side of the road, hang down the leaves of a London plane tree.

The illustration is a dark, moody aerial view of a smoky harbour, with various features such as ships and buildings oddly out of scale. Four flighter aircraft are flying toward the viewer from slightly below — and they are German FW-190 models with very clear Nazi black cross insignia.

Sitting on a slender lichen-riddled branch, with a background of sunlit trees and bushes, is a laughing kookaburra, its right side toward us and looking down to the right. It’s a chunky medium-sized bird with off-white head and underparts, and brown wings with a pale blue flash, and on its head are brown streaks back from the eyes and along the middle of the crown. Its tail is lighter brown with black bands. It leans forward, its big beak prominent, concentrating on what might appear on the ground below. Yes, it’s about to pounce!

Late at night on a railway station platform — in this case Sydney Central platform 9 — a Sydney Trains V-Set InterCity train stands ready to depart. Its fluted metal sides reflect the red signal lights as a passenger walks up to the leading car.

Paul Kelly got it completely wrong, it seems. This is how you make gravy.
In a men's toilet there's a single-user urinal on the white-tiled wall. Below it, on the red-tiled floor, is a square yellow bucket. It has text on it! Let's zoom in... Yes, the bucket is labeled "Maggie Supreme Gravy Mix"!

There is evidence to suggest that it works perfectly.
The device in the previous image in a parking lot, surrounded and engulfed by flames. The device’s pilot is still in the centre of it all. A man with a fire extinguisher stands nearby doing nothing, so perhaps it’s meant to work like this?

It's a cube-shaped platform roughly a metre square made from metal pipes forming the edges. At each corner is a downward pointing rocket motor. On each side is a large gas cylinder. And in the platform stands a man in what looks like overalls and a motorcycle helmet. The whole contraption is... flying.
