i just reviewed 50+ applications for an arts award and most of them were written by chatgpt. And then the other reviewers said they put them into Gemini to rank them. At a certain point, if everyone is giving their thinking entirely over to AI, why are we even bothering with any of this anymore?

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Growing up my grandparents would make the ~1 hour both ways trip from Sarasota to MacDill AFB up in Tampa for all kinds of things from the PX. Every week. This is a huge staple for military families. Taking this away will hit them super hard. Yet more idiocy from those currently in power.
This probably sounds minor to many of you but closing the commissaries will....not be taken lightly by the US all-volunteer standing military. The PX is everything (literally, as it's not just groceries!)
Someday, we're gonna find out that the decisionmaking went like this:

Can’t agree with this strongly enough. Phenomenal movie.
anyway go see One Battle After Another in a movie theater, I know we said this about Oppenheimer but I mean it for real with this one, there are cinematographic and audio mixing things that are essential to the experience and you won't get it at home
