There are two notable people who passed away today. One was a jazz musician popular in the 70s and the other an iconic wrestler named after a comic book superhero. I know which one more people will be mourning today, especially those on the Right. I’ll be honoring the other one. RIP Chuck Mangione.

@newrepublic.com Can’t say for sure it was NR but it seems too coincidental that shortly after I recommended a YouTube channel dedicated to archiving TCM segments on a post about your political films list, it was taken down. For years they were doing fans a great service. Now it’s gone. Your doing?

The film is on Tubi. It’s worth watching even though you have to see through multiple ad breaks. Might be good though because you’ll need to cool down while watching it due to getting angry at all the people who foolishly backed Tr*mp & the reasons they gave for doing so. link.tubi.tv/bkeNTImvXUb

Was watching some TCM. Went to a channel on YouTube run by someone who has recorded most of the host segments for years. Saw it was taken down. Week or so ago I posted on the @newrepublic.com feed about a series they’d done for TCM & recommended this channel. Was the guy busted because I did that?

Then the sign disappears seconds later. That or the camera angle hid it. Not a great movie but it was still enjoyable. Shame the film isn’t on home video. It’s not even on YouTube. Hope TCM airs it again sooner rather than later. They need to have a weekly show dedicated to films not on video.

Watched a movie on TCM called The Treasure of Pancho Villa (not on home video). The Coca Cola sign got my attention. Did a bit of research & found out why. The 1955 film takes place in 1915 Mexico & Coke (the drinking kind) didn’t come to the country until the twenties. Error or product placement?
