Admittedly not everyone will be recipients of the details, but part of the press kit for The Belair Lip Bombs second album is a track by track breakdown of it, written by lead singer Maisie Everett. And so, what? you might ask. Whilst not exactly standard practice, the idea of giving up more detail about a new record when your band has so far been a largely domestic thing in native Australia makes sense.

Did Neil Young invent grunge? It’s a fair and unanswerable question. Mirror Ball (95) has just been cleaned up to devastating effect. Subtleties abound in the cacophony. Pearl Jam (minus EV) like they’ve been fed on raw meat.

The Springsteen film is heavy stuff. No real revelations for the fan but - the Frankie Teardrop sequence is brilliantly done; shades of the Last Picture Show in the flashbacks; one too many (out of two) references to Donna Summer; Jeremy Allen White's vocal performances are astonishing.
