Exploring the world through craft beer, running, and sports.
Welp, MLS is moving to a spring-fall calendar. I don't think it's a bad idea, but it's a terrible decision without soliciting ANY fan feedback. I want soccer to continue growing in the U.S., but this has the chance to alienate the league's fanbase.

MLS switching schedule to align with world soccer
The MLS Board of Governors voted Thursday to align with the international soccer calendar by shifting the regular season to a fall through spring campaign beginning in 2027.

Again, not visible from my home in central Lubbock. I'm sure things are more visible farther away from all the light pollution.
Seeing photos and videos from all the people fortunate enough to see the #AuroraBorealis tonight is making me jealous. I wonder what's visible from my former home in Nebraska.

You can support veterans throughout the year by donating to GLASA. I'm running the Valencia Marathon for GLASA, which provides adapted athletics and wellness opportunities for people with physical or visual disabilities, including veterans. #VeteransDay

Ope, I missed this question. I'm not sure of my plans for running on #ThanksgivingDay, but I'm certain it should include some miles because that'll be about 1 1/2 weeks until my race day. #RunChat
One more question for this mini-#RunChat ... What are your plans for running on Thanksgiving? Turkey trot? Rest? Neighborhood run?
November 10, 2025 at 1:35 AM
It's nothing major, per se, but I did log a really solid long 10-mile with a total of 6 miles at race pace this morning. #RunChat

It took me quite a bit to become comfortable with calling myself a "runner." I think I was about 9 months into my running journey before I felt comfortable calling myself a runner. #RunChat
We'll continue a mini-#RunChat this week! Tell us ... at what moment did you call yourself a "runner"?

I'm 4 weeks out from my fall marathon. So, I'm anxiously winding down my training, but I haven't hit my taper, yet. #RunChat

I hope one of my geographer friends may be able to help with this issue.
Do I know any Indigenous folks who make maps? Got a request for a paid design/cartography job and it'd be rad if I could connect you with them.

Oh goodness. I don't usually go to sleep at 10 p.m., but I did last night after dozing off a few times while sitting on the sofa. I woke up about 6:30 and feel so rested.
Let's try getting home to Lubbock again. It was another early wakeup, but I'm on board my first flight of the day.

It was a whirlwind weekend in NYC supporting one of my favorite charities at the #NYCMarathon. I am fortunate to take a voluntary bump from my flights, so I'll be home tomorrow instead of today. Unfortunately/fortunately, I've got an early flight tomorrow. So, it's off to bed soon and early to rise.

It's almost 11 p.m. ET. I've been awake since about 3 a.m. CT. It has been a VERY full, but great day. I am ready to get some sleep.
Whenever you set your alarm to go off 5+ hours before your usual wake-up time, you know it's gonna be a long day.

However, I am looking forward to an awesome weekend supporting an amazing organization. #NYCMarathon

A great question for my baseball-loving friends. If the mascot adopts its real world counterpart, I'd be most concerned about Mariner Moose chasing me. They're fast, large, and those antlers can do some damage.
what baseball mascot do you think would be the worst to have chasing you through the woods and what kind of weapon do you imagine them to be using

The baseball fan won out. Bedtime at 2 a.m. CDT.
As a baseball fan, I would love to watch the end of this game. As a runner training for a marathon in 6 weeks, I really need to get some sleep. #TORvsLAD

My friend @amaskeberka.bsky.social has a great challenge for people who want to stay motivated logging miles (running/walking) next month. It's called 100 Miles in November, but it's really more about accountability. It's free to join, too! #RunChat

I am fortunate to know many people who have explored the U.S. national parks, @beckyjlomax.bsky.social is one of the foremost experts and you should absolutely invest in one of her books before your next trip.
What a great compliment from nature and wildlife photographer @expeditionswithevelyn.com. She wrote, "Just made a quick trip to Shenandoah to get a nature refresh. Took and used your book (spot on for this park 😉)."

Thank you, Evelyn! Do follow her!
