it's taken ~24 hours for a cheap clone of the Apple / Issey Miyake $230 knitted iPhone bag to appear on Taobao

promises to ship within 15 days. 75.5 RMB = US$10

i know it's just using an Apple image, but that's inevitable as they haven't started to manufacture the clone yet. so tempted to buy!

Tesla just had its worst month for several years in China. October local sales were just 26,006 - akin to late-pandemic levels in 2022

YTD 2025: -8.4%

indeed, with just 26k, Tesla China had a slower month than many local EV startups, such as Nio (40,397) and Xpeng (42,013).

Chinese automaker Xpeng just showed of its humanoid robot. ignoring the apparent pointlessness of humanoid robots, i'm kinda alarmed by a company full of dudes giving into a corset-esque waistline and robo-tiddies

creepy

Tesla is close to being wiped out in Germany, selling a meagre 750 cars in the past month. it used to sell thousands and thousands per month. in fact, at its peak, it sold 9,500+ per month in the country!

Mercedes is replacing its disastrously overpriced EQC, which was a total flop, with the *even more expensive* GLC EV

insane

US$82k or €71k is way too much for a C-Class, which ought to start at just over half that amount

Porsche sales in China (~20% of brand's total sales) are already nosediving - but with this EV u-turn, Porsche might get totally wiped out in the country by the end of the decade

what a farce!

baffled by a company that claims to be American (Minix RV) selling a Chinese EV - Geely Riddara RD6 - with a camper home attachment in North America

all seems dodgy. its claimed showrooms don't actually exist. and how the hell can it sell a Chinese EV in the US!?

review of the 6-Seat Model Y L in China

an unserious bodge job from an unserious company - it's far behind 6-seater Chinese EV rivals

Chinese automaker Chery has set up yet another new brand as it expands overseas... however the name Lepas just sounds like lepers.

it sounds weird. the company needs more/better branding consultants

"Lepas (portmanteau of leopard and passion)" 🤦🏼‍♂️

Tesla is still doing badly in China this year

here's the chart including Q3 now that we have September's domestic Chinese market sales data. clearly Q3 was nowhere near as good as last year's

maybe it's delayed by the week-long national holiday in China, but this number ISN'T Tesla's China sales - it's the utterly useless Shanghai Gigafactory output number

the actual domestic Tesla China sales number I guess will come out tomorrow (Saturday is an extra work day!) or next week
