it's taken ~24 hours for a cheap clone of the Apple / Issey Miyake $230 knitted iPhone bag to appear on Taobao

promises to ship within 15 days. 75.5 RMB = US$10

i know it's just using an Apple image, but that's inevitable as they haven't started to manufacture the clone yet. so tempted to buy!

This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"

China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.

Tesla just had its worst month for several years in China. October local sales were just 26,006 - akin to late-pandemic levels in 2022

YTD 2025: -8.4%

indeed, with just 26k, Tesla China had a slower month than many local EV startups, such as Nio (40,397) and Xpeng (42,013).

the US car market (& Canada) is already really bad and uncompetitive, but it's going to get even more backwards as the Galápagos effect really bites

The whole straw man suggesting it's inclusion is a crutch, nah fam, these lazy carmakers that suck globally at EVs just suck at everything, gimme my CP/AA :).

with Tesla's China sales DOWN quite a lot (⬇️6% y-o-y), it's clear to see that other brands are benefiting directly
#Leapmotor: delivered a record 70,289 vehicles across its full lineup.
#XPeng: delivered 42,013 units, exceeding 40,000 for the 2nd straight month.
#NIO : broke the 40,000 mark for the first time, setting a new record with 40,397 units.
