As @rbreich.bsky.social notes billionaires and their families own X, Paramount, CBS, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, the Washington Post, Amazon, MGM, Fox News, the Wall Street Journal and New York Post, and could soon own Warner Bros and CNN

And they are all Trump supporters

"Liberal media" indeed

One of the real revelations of the Epstein emails is that Epstein himself was not especially bright, dispelling the "genius" tag that had always seemed ill fitting.

It's almost like there was some other reason rich and powerful men were drawn to him, some other skill he had. Weird.

It all would have been much easier if, as would have happened if we were remotely a serious country, it all ended with the Access Hollywood interview.

Some disgraceful NYT reporters out there, most still on the job.
At the same time the NY Times was hyping Hillary Clinton's emails, it had a reporter with emails from Jeffrey Epstein that were highly damaging to Trump.

The more NYT apologists try to minimize this the clearer it becomes that they don't understand why much of the public doesn't trust legacy media.

@piperformissouri.bsky.social is right again. Also see @katemanne.bsky.social on these topics.
Trump would never have been elected if so many Americans cared about sexual assault. His voters knew his history and elected him anyway. They listened to him say he grabbed women by the p*ssy.

Michael Wolff tried to buy New York Mag — with money from Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein.

So Wolff didn't just have a reporter-source relationship with Epstein. Nor was Wolff his informal PR adviser. They saw each other as potential business partners.

The only reason we know anything about the Epstein files is because the survivors refused to give up.

This release is about the the bravery & tenacity of the survivors who continue to fight for justice in a system seeking to crush, silence, and erase them.

The soft pedaling language being used to describe the men in the Epstein files is enraging.

They didn’t “have sex with underage girls”.

They raped them.

Sex implies consent.

The survivors deserve better than this. Use the correct language. Say what these men did.

I saw a photo blogger trying to get attention by saying nobody should take photos of sunsets for the same reason.
Saw someone post that they didn’t want to take any aurora photos because it was cliché, everyone’s doing it

The sky’s full of mystical dancing lights, from particles miles above us, excited by a burp from our local star. You’re allowed to be excited about cool shit, and this is especially cool shit

The right take:
What's worse is knowing this, the past 9 months of Trump breaking democracy and ruling like a tyrannical madman afterwards looks even more awful. This moral cancer of a man has harmed and killed and tortured and so many people backed him up while doing so. This taint will never clean off.

Much like the Russia investigation, they won’t accept it.

Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX
