Why do you describe France as a basket case? Its just democracy playing out. No one said democracy wasn't messy. Also a public used to high levels of public spending, doesn't want cut backs. Same in UK Israel and Gaza, and Russia Ukraine are bigger basket cases than France.

Btw when we asked Pearson to come on the show she declined and told us her lawyers would be listening “if you get any aspect of the story wrong”, with the implicit threat of legal action. Who’d have thought it, she doesn’t think free speech should be limitless after all.
