This notice appeared on page 47 of the latest edition of the University of Minnesota's business school alumni magazine (where I went to graduate school).

No medals, stadium-sized tributes, flags at half-staff, or millions of social media posts.

But equally tragic.

I have won the 2025 FREEDOM! Award. It goes to the legislator receiving the Idaho Freedom Foundation’s lowest score. This means I received the HIGHEST score for being an INDEPENDENT, CRITICAL-THINKING LEGISLATOR.

WHERE ARE RISCH, CRAPO, FULCHER, SIMPSON?

If former Idaho Democratic congressmen Larry LaRocco and Richard Stallings can hold an in-person Town Hall in West Ada County (on 3/24) open to everyone, why won't Idaho's current Republican congressmen do the same?

Who are they afraid of?

The Idaho Legislature and the Governor plan to add Idaho to the list of states who have let out-of-state billionaires put your public school taxpayer dollars into their pockets.

It's not a "school choice" bill.

It's a "you pay for your neighbor's school choice" bill.

THE TWO GOLDEN RULES.

The one in politics today has unfortunately become: "He who has all the gold makes all the rules." #idpol #idleg

I prefer the other Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Here's hoping you enjoy the holidays and have a happy and safe New Year.

THIS IS WHAT OUR COUNTRY LOOKED LIKE during the first Thanksgiving in 1691.

In reflecting on the past, let's also acknowledge and celebrate what it takes for a diverse, pluralistic and free society to succeed amidst the forces of growth and change that are not exclusively within its control.
