The word “effectively” here is sloppy journalism by WDJ. Something like this has zero legal “effect” and is only “effective” if people and orgs are convinced by bad reporting that they have to comply when they don’t.

Please take “effectively” out of this headline! It suggests an EO from POTUS can actually have the effect of banning trans women from sports. Which, in turn, makes people and orgs feel like they have to comply when they don’t. Make clearer that people can #resist nonsense so it isn’t “effective”
