I've been perplexed as to why more elite institutions don't realize that there will be a time after this regime is gone, and it will behoove them to stand by their principles now.

Part of why admins think this is an easy win is that they think that libraries are just boxes full of resources, rather than organizational locations for specific (and important) expertise. They also do not value "space as a service" which libraries have offered for a long time.

Lots of good albums from '98 I'd discover a year or two later, but this one had the most immediate impact.

Imo the real version of "Nobody wants to work anymore" is nothing works anymore. If the business you're dealing with isn't outright defrauding you it's incompetent at the most basic things
