THIS IS WHAT I’M SAYING!!! it adds a new edge to the game!! reeves has never shone brighter than when he gets all done up in wards to lay glyphs and crack skulls with abandon. to say nothing of how pests thrive off chirping cantrips at the bench to unpeel tape and spill gatorade everywhere #annoying

thank you for seeing my vision. whenever you next watch or take the ice yourself consider how puckmancy might have made a difference, then write the nhl an email asking for them to expand the role of puck wizard teamwide instead of limiting it to a single player. together we can change the game

i try not to think about the carolina hurricanes if i can avoid it but i must begrudgingly thank nikolaj ehlers for engraving the glyphs in frederik andersen’s leg pads that finally sealed away his legendary five-hole. if only fredzilla had thought to get that done while he was still on the leafs…

the minnesota frost have always kept conspicuously mum about their players’ magical potency (wise) though we must assume their restoration witches’ wards are among the best in this dimension given britta curl is still capable of play

of course the nhl’s timid approach to puckmancy is unimpressive when the pwhl has had it from the get-go. we’ve known marie-philippe poulin not only as an all-time great centre but also a high-caliber tempest cleric capable of blasting the entirety of the boston fleet into the atlantic with one shot

the sabres, unfortunately, have again failed to read the tea leaves—word from their bench is rasmus dahlin became a werewolf over the summer, but the 2025-2026 rule book update explicitly prohibits on-ice transformation from a non-spell source. sure will be inconvenient on full moon games!

there will be a bit of a scramble to rebuild around this addendum, though teams like the wild, who have been quietly investing in defensive evocation since 2021, may finally see their prescience pay off. i hear the mammoth have spent a full year conjuring the spirit of the coyote. hope that pays off
